Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
